These past few days, I've been researching a lot of web hosting sites. Partly because my current forum is requiring additional storage space. Now, based on my experience, running a forum is not going to be easy if you do not have a reliable hosting service. Some of my requirements include affordable price, fast stable connection, minimal downtime, reliable technical support team & of course, a good review from fellow internet users. This time, i'm thinking of getting a hosting for my blog. Been squeezing my time daily going through Google to find a good site. So far nothing suites me.
So here's what I need, a central site that provides me with all these reviews for my reference. One site that came across my search was http://webhostinggeeks.com/. This site is simply amazing! As you access the site, it displays the best 10 web hosting sites for 2008. Each site in the list is given rating such as Editor's Choice Hosting, Business Web Hosting, Cheap Reliable Hosting, Trusted Web Hosting and a few other. It's quite simply to understand it. Of course being the cheapskate that I am, I'd go for the Cheap Reliable Hosting.
There's one column in the ranking that's quite cool too, and it's called the Bonus Features. Under Bonus Features, additional benefit of being a part of the site is given. Freebies like Google Adwords or free domain names are listed. So you know what you get for choosing the hosting site. A simple click on any of the site in the list gives you a detailed review of the hosting site. The entire package plan offered by them, host rating, customer reviews, server uptime monitoring, and many more.
webhostinggeeks.com themself provide a basic tutorial on what a web master needs to choose a reliable web host. Quite a few simple tutorials on what people would need. Not so common in review sites. It is very interesting indeed. Good thing that this site is not populated with advertisements too much. Speaking of advertisement, this is a sponsored post. As far as I came across, only 1 advertisement by Google. Nothing else. Doesn't seem like they're a reseller for these hosting companies. Definately a choice for me to visit next time I consider hosting service.
